I never did get back here the other day when I said, even promised, I would.  Gah – I am such a bad blogger!!!  What is wrong with me?  Why don’t I just cut trying and close down the whole damn blog???  No.  I can’t.  I had too much fun re-reading all the posts from last year at this time when I was just in my first trimester…  it is so cool to read all of that.  So I will keep blogging or else what will I read next year?  Huh?

So I was gonna write a post on balance, but I still haven’t had the time to figure out how to balance my life so I can write that post.  It’s not gonna be today either.  We had a family crisis, sister is just getting out of critical care in ICU, parents are arriving at the airport, and I have to go!

Maybe tomorrow?

I totally suck!

I know, I totally SUCK at blogging.  Royally.  I know.  It’s not that I don’t think about blogging, I do.  Everyday!  I just never actually take the time to come and type something out.  This is why I do not have real life hobbies.  Because I suck at keeping up with them.  It’s not just blogging, it’s every hobby I have ever tried to have.

So to update, Ash will be 5 months old tomorrow.  I know what you’re thinking.  How in the hell???  5 months has flown by, hasn’t it?  He is so freakin adorable it’s almost criminal.  Which incedentally, it is rude when someone says “He is SO cute!” to say “I know!”  Because that is what I say.  Anyway, he is rolling tummy to back, he is “talking” up a storm, he laughs, exchanges his toys from one hand to the other, plays with his feet, recognizes voices, smiles constantly, and is just a pure and complete joy.

The other kids are all back in school which leaves me lots of time to just be a mommy to Ash and nurse him, hold him, nap with him, etc.  It is nice.  Then when they get home they have missed him so much that they take turns holding him while I get some stuff done around the house.  But Im definitly not a cleaner, really, I am a straightener.  LOL.  I have cleaners who I pay to deep clean around here twice a month.  It works well.

I am going to try to blog more and get some more readers, which means commenting more.  I have not wanted to comment because it would lead people here to a blog which am so bad about updating.  So I am going to work on both.  So if you do read my blog, and want to send some friends over, I will try to keep it interesting!

Next post will be something I have been thinking about lately – balance.  Finding the right balance in life, between teaching and letting be, between husband and kids, between work and family, between discipline and fun, between letting things go and choosing our battles.  And I’m going to write it tomorrow!  I will!!

Rolling Over

Well, my baby boy just rolled over!  3 days before his 4 month birthday…  and he is rolling over like a champ.  By the looks of it he could have done it long ago, I just lay him on his tummy, and he instantly flops over to his back.  LOL.  It is so funny!!

In other news – he has begun to make this screeching squealing sound that is like a scream but with some growl in it when he is displeasured.  It too is funny, annoying, but funny.

My Ashy bear is one of a kind!!!!

Oh, and in other news — I got my daughter her 13th birthday present – a baby Chihuahua.  She is so super cute and so far very good.  She has only pee peed on her potty pad, does not bark and made it through her first night here in her crate with out whining at ALL.  Is is possible we have found the only other totally amazing dog on the planet???

Life is good people, very good!!

OK!!  Here is a place for the continuation of the conversation from GwoP regarding the Gosselins appeal to churches.  Here is a rough transcript of what my comment was that never made it public before the entry was removed:

I believe that the Gosselins appeal to churches is due to the fact that Christians want to believe people.  They want to help, want to give the benefit of the doubt.  They are – faithful.  These people are not researching the Gosselins, they are the sheeple we see on all the other sights blindly nodding their heads in unison as Kate speaks.  I feel they are an easy target.

Why do you think Jon and Kate appeal so highly to churches — highly enough that they can now command $25,000 per engagement?

I have had an eye opening last 2 days.  About something stupid, not life changing, but something I have blogged about and something I have been thinking about.  That damn show Jon and Kate plus 8.  I wrote what I wrote in my last post, went down to my Tivo, and Lordy Bee how things changed.  🙂

I saw the gum episode and the cupcake episode.  I was dumbfounded.  So back to the internet I went.  My search did not fail me this time.  I found the blog of Aunt Jodi’s sister, the old TWoP pages, and the heaven sent GWoP blog.  My my my.  I am a changed woman.  The wool has been pulled from my eyes.  I can see clearly now the rain is gone.  Or something.

Kate Gosselin should be admitted.  Her kids should begin counseling now.  Those poor boys are going to have nightmares of big giant birthday cupcakes swirling mockingly around their head with Hannah’s face all big in them licking her fork as her “last bite” ———  AHH I am so pissed!  PISSED!

I am so frustrated with WordPress.  It will NOT let me link within my post no matter what I do.  Even the little shortcut is not lit up and I have been working on it for weeks and it refuses to let me.

If anyone can help me figure it out I will love you forever.

Ashton is tall and skinny – gee I wonder where he gets that from…  🙂   He is 10 pounds 2.5 ounces, which is just the 10th percentile – but he is 24 inches long which is more like 90th percentile.  Ha!  He is such a sweet baby I can’t hardly STAND it.  He smiles all the time now, and yesterday when he would start to fuss I would talk to him and he would then smile instead of cry.  He smiles at Chris all. the. time.  Today he is having a more sleepy day, or a sleepy morning, and when he sleeps god he is just so angelic.  I stare at him and I can’t believe I have him.  That I really have a baby and he is it, this precious perfect beautiful happy sweet little tiny guy is MY baby !!!!!  I want to eat him up!

He only got 2 shots instead of the recommended six (six!!!!!!!!!)  but I had talked to his Dr. the week before and he agreed to let me do the shots at my own pace.  It was very nice, 3 different people came in to see him and all three of them asked me if he was getting shots.  It was very nice to feel that my wishes were respected, that I was not an idiot, that I was in control of what happened to my little baby.  Only one person said to me “Only two shots, so when is he going to get the rest?”  And I said “Oh, I don’t know, maybe never.”  That was the end of that discussion thankyouverymuch.

I do enough reading and research to know how to keep my baby safe, at least I feel that I do.  I made a logical choice as to which shots he got – pertussis and pneumoccoal are the 2 airborn illnesses that are harmful or fatal if contraced as an infant.  There were 20,000 reported cases of pertussis in the U.S. last year.  Pertussis does not have it’s own vaccine, it is only available in the DTaP, so he got that.  Pc is the other, it is a vaccinne against Pneumoccoal which is a strain of penumonia as I understand it.  It is like a cold but then gets very bad and there is no way to get rid of it once you get it.  It also has greatly reduced ear infections and asthma, both of which my kids had an abundunce of (Alex still battles with ear infections and asthma at almost 12 years old).  So he got that.  I can’t find the real need to vaccinate him against polio which is basically irradicated, or Hep B which is an STD for the love of Christ.  The Hib and Rotovirus I will take him for at 3 and 5 months IF I decide he needs them, but I will be honest I almost pulled the plug on getting him any shots at all.  Chris has left the decision completely up to me so I have been reading all I can, and I use The Vaccine Book by Dr. Sears as my bible.

Well, Im off to go shower and shop somewhere.  Im sure I have something to take back, or something I need at BRU.  Right?  Right???
