Cruise Countdown – 52 days

Well it’s finally official! After a slight hang up with the reservation and a small issue of me trying to pay our balance a day and a half late resulting in our reservation being cancelled, our rooms given away, and a 2 week process of me chewing up and spitting out every person I could reach at Royal Caribbean, our travel agent was able to re-secure our reservation AT THE ORIGINAL PRICE (the cost of the cruise has more than doubled since our original reservation in December) and we are officially embarking to Mexico in 52 days!!! Woo HOO! I am so completely excited to be taking this vacation with the kids. It is going to be amazing! They have a new ship that they are using for this cruise now – it is different than the one Tay, Al, and I went on in 2006. This one is in a different class and it is much better and newer. It has a full basketball court, in-line skating track, ice skating rink, and a 9 hole golf course, and a rock climbing wall, all of which the older ship did not have. All of that is in addition to what the other ship did have. Since Ashton will turn 1 the day before we leave, we are doing a birthday celebration on-board – where they will decorate our room, bring him a candle in his dessert, and have the whole wait staff sing to him. I am also going to purchase a cake for him to mess up too. Fun fun fun!!!

We are taking everyone except for Dylan and I am just so excited to get to connect with the other kids and to be able to have Chris AND I both being able to be with the kids. Usually it is one of us with all the other kids, and one of us with Dylan. It will be so nice to get to focus on everyone else for an entire week. It will also be nice to be able NOT to focus on anyone if I don’t want to! Their kids club is wonderful and there will be so much to do on-board, not to mention all the fun stuff to do in Mexico! Oh – and this ship also has a kiddie pool with miniture pool accessories – so cute – so Ashton will have an absolute blast there.

I am so looking forward to this (can you tell???) 🙂

Like blood to a shark

THOSE LIPS!!!

THOSE LIPS!!!

Whenever my baby son passes me by, whether he is walking with his little walker, crawling, moving past me face while I am holding him to try to get something, whenEVER he goes near my face, his breath to me is like what a shark must feel when he gets that hint of blood in the water – I WANT IT!  I can’t stand to let him go by without grabbing a kiss from that precious mouth and those Angelina Jolie lips he somehow got….  his breath is so baby-ish and good and I know that it will be gone soooo soon and OH MAN I could bathe in him!  He is so the best!!!

Lately he has started giving kisses on his own, without being asked.  I can’t tell you how it feels inside to have him come to me and get right up to my face and open his little mouth and plant one on me.  It is amazing.  Being a mommy all over again is absolutly wonderful – I would never ever ever give it up for anything.  All the sleepless nights, the screaming over his FIVE teeth he is getting right now, the sick-with-worry feeling when he had a fever for 2 days, all of it melts away when he sees me and gets the cheesiest grin on his face, then hits me with that baby breath and gives me a kiss.  He takes all the troubles of an ordinary day away with that one little action.

We’re almost walking!

10 months old at the park

10 months old at the park

Ashton is up to about 4 steps at a time now, and for the first time yesterday he took 2 steps, stopped but did not fall, then began taking more steps until at about 4 steps he fell. It is so fun and amazing to watch him transition into walking. Now, instead of crawling regularly, he does the army crawl on his hands and feet. He also stands up all the time – he constantly wants to be on his feet. He will stand up anywhere too, on the bed, on the couch, absolutly anywhere he is he stands up immediatly. So he took his first steps at 9 months, and I have to say Chris was right. When Ashton was still a tiny baby a week or 2 old, and was already holding his head up since the day he was born, and just had this amazing strength to him, Chris said “he will be an early walker. I think he will start around 9 months.” I, of course, laughed because no baby walks at 9 months! And although Ashton is not “walking” yet, he certainly took his first steps at 9 months and he is getting closer everyday to being a regular walker. He can walk with me just holding one hand at this point as well.

I have began watching another little boy – he is 4 months old. He is not very happy with the arrangment. He cries a lot. Im hoping that after a few days he will get used to it here and will be more content. It’s been an assault on mine and Ashton’s quiet little life here. We have each other all to ourselves everyday until 2:30 so this is quite the change. I’m going to give it a week or so and see what’s what.

All things seem to be going great around here! Happiness abounds, and we thank the Lord everyday for all of our blessings

STFU

Embryos are NOT implanted. They are transfered. NOT IMPLANTED!!!! Research people – good fucking gracious! And how DARE this woman get all Kate Gosselin on our asses and think the county will be duped into giving love offerings and free items and be enthralled by the super-uterus? Come on! The Gosselins have taken the country for the only ride on the stupid train that we are going to take hun. You missed the whistle by about 4 years, give or take.
